Parent & Child Aquatics (Ages 6 Months–3 Years)

Start Early, Build Comfort, and Create a Foundation for a Lifetime of Water Safety.

Our Parent & Child Aquatics program is a shared, hands-on experience that teaches your infant or toddler essential swimming readiness skills while equipping you with the tools to keep them safe.

The Child’s Experience

  • Water Acclimation: We focus on making the water a positive, tear-free environment. Children learn to comfortably adjust to the pool, blow bubbles, and safely explore rhythmic, controlled submersions.
  • Buoyancy & Movement: Through your guided support, toddlers experience what it feels like to float on their front and back, eventually progressing to assisted glides and rudimentary arm and leg movements.
  • Safety First: We establish critical boundaries early, including learning how to enter and exit the pool safely, experiencing a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket, and enforcing the golden rule: always asking for adult permission before getting in the water.

The Parent’s Toolkit

  • Handling & Support: Learn the proper holding techniques to safely and comfortably support your child as they explore buoyancy and movement.
  • Reading Readiness: Understand how to read your child’s cues to determine when they are ready to try new skills, ensuring they never feel forced or overwhelmed.
  • Active Supervision & Rescue: Gain essential water safety knowledge, from recognizing common pool hazards (like drains and suction fittings) to performing basic reaching and throwing rescue assists.

Who Is This Program For?

  • Infants and toddlers (ages 6 months to 3 years) who are being introduced to the water.
  • Parents looking for a fun, structured bonding activity that doubles as vital safety education.
  • Families wanting to build a strong foundation of water confidence before transitioning their child into independent learn-to-swim lessons.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Young children learn best through routine, repetition, and play. We use songs, guided games, and a consistent class structure to create a familiar and comforting environment for your little one. Following the American Red Cross guidelines, we ensure that every splash and game has a distinct developmental purpose. This program not only helps get your child used to the water, it also helps empower you as a parent to confidently guide them through a lifetime of safe aquatic experiences.

Bring on the bubbles and start making memories. Grab your swimsuits and let’s get splashing.
